Didactic Schedule

Educational Experience

The structure and content of our educational program is to support the development of knowledgeable, skillful physicians who provide compassionate care. We aim to prepare our graduating residents to become competent, well-rounded, and proficient clinicians who focus on community health. In addition, our diverse curriculum and individualized training prepare residents well for any autonomous practice in Internal Medicine, including a career in Academic Medicine.

We provide a broad range of structured didactic activities, including:

  • Morning Report, Monday and Tuesday, 7AM-8AM. The primary focus of these educational sessions is to teach medical students and interns basic patient management skills. Morning Reports are run by IM seniors and fellows with the IM core faculty’s supervision and active participation.
  • IM specific didactics, every Thursday, 1PM-4:30 PM**
  • Congdon Lecture Series – 2nd Wednesday of each month. The Congdon Lecture Series brings 6 certified physicians to speak on various topics each month. This educational opportunity is currently being held virtually.
  • MSU Graduate Medical Education Alliance (GME Alliance) provides educational programs for Internal Medicine residents. Full or a half day SCS conferences are held on Thursdays, every 6 weeks (on average). IM regular didactics are cancelled these days.
