We are a leader in pulmonary care and have been at the forefront of developing new treatments that improve quality of life—including a distinguished interventional pulmonology program that has helped pioneer new minimally invasive procedures.

Our pulmonary and critical care medicine team treats conditions ranging in severity and symptoms, and we offer a wide range of treatments, everything from pulmonary rehabilitation to lung transplant. We have special expertise in COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary embolism (PE)—including its progressive forms of chronic PE and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH)—and pulmonary hypertension.

Chronic PE and CTEPH: We are one of few centers in the country with the resources and experience to manage chronic pulmonary embolism and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH)—a life-threatening condition that can develop when chronic PE is left untreated. We offer the latest treatment options available, including pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE) surgery and minimally invasive percutaneous balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA).
Comprehensive asthma care: Our Henry Ford Comprehensive Asthma Program is a specialized clinic dedicated to treating asthma.
