Made possible by the Al Glick Scholars Endowment Fund, Henry Ford Jackson Hospital (HFJH) is proud to offer scholarships for eligible Jackson County residents pursuing a career in healthcare. These scholarships provide financial assistance for continued education and career training, creating a pathway for recipients to become future members of the dedicated care team at HFJH.
2026 HFJH Al Glick Scholarship applications will be accepted Monday November 3, 2025 through Friday February 13, 2026

Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please ensure you submit all required items, which include:

    • Unofficial Transcripts (non-PowerSchool)
    • Essay
    • Letter of Recommendation
    • FAFSA – Proof of your Student Aid Index (SAI)

2026 HFJH Al Glick Scholarship HFJH Position Overview

Primary work location will be Henry Ford Jackson Hospital

  • Medical Assistant

    Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties may include but are not limited to the greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room, obtaining medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs, preparing patients for an examination/procedure, and assisting the provider during the examination/procedure.

  • Surgical Technician

    Under direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for the handling of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during general to moderately complex surgical procedures. Ensures understanding of the assigned surgical procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the assigned surgeon and surgical team members. Also provides service support related to patient preparation, patient transport, and assisting surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.

  • Respiratory Therapy

    Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients. Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout HFHS, as assigned. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs. Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

  • Registered Nurse

    Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

  • Athletic Trainer

    Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for patients and athletes. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and Henry Ford Health sites.

  • Social Work

    The Social Worker is responsible for creating outcomes for the patient and family by managing complex psychosocial and economic co-morbidities. Provide education and consultation regarding resources, collaborate to develop a discharge plan and facilitate and monitor its implementation. Assist patient/family adjust to and cope with illness, diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis. Through advanced practice skills mobilizes resources to reduce risk, serves as a liaison between the hospital and the community. In addition, offers crisis interventions to patient/family.
