Application Process

Candidates seeking a General Surgery Residency categorical position must apply through ERAS (Program ID: 4402500414). Applications are not considered unless accessible through ERAS. Candidate applications meeting the program requirements and selected for an interview are notified via email.

Application requirements:

• Medical school transcripts
• Dean’s letter
• Photograph
• USMLE or COMLEX transcripts
• 3 letters of recommendation

Our audition season runs from July to November/December, with interviews being held virtually in December. You will be contacted via email to schedule an interview.

We can sponsor J1 visas.

Medical Students

Our hospitals serve as the base hospital for clinical rotations for about 50 medical students. We enjoy having rotating 3rd and 4th year medical students incorporated into our teams at both Henry Ford Warren and Henry Ford Madison Heights campuses.

We are happy to accommodate 4th year medical students interested in an audition/elective rotation for 2-4 weeks. We also have housing provided on request to our 4th year rotators on a first come, first serve basis.
