Alireza Meysami, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Alireza Meysami is a nationally recognized rheumatologist, physician leader and clinician-scientist who serves as Division Head of Rheumatology at Henry Ford Health and Associate Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and holds subspecialty certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Meysami is recognized for his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, Sjögren's disease and IgG4-related disease.

After completing his rheumatology fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Dr. Meysami joined Henry Ford Health in 2012 and has since established several signature clinical and academic programs, including the IgG4-Related Disease Clinic and Patient Registry and the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Clinic and Training Program. He is widely regarded as a leading expert in IgG4-related disease and has been invited to present his work at regional, national and international scientific meetings.

Dr. Meysami serves as principal investigator on numerous clinical trials evaluating emerging therapies for autoimmune diseases. His research has contributed to advances in the understanding and treatment of lupus, vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's disease and IgG4-related disease. In addition to his research activities, he is deeply committed to medical education, mentorship and physician leadership, helping train the next generation of rheumatologists while advancing innovation in patient care.
