About Me

Biographical Statement

Dr. Omar Danoun is a neurologist at Henry Ford Health who specializes in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. He is triple board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology, epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology, reflecting advanced training in diagnosing and treating seizure disorders and other complex neurological conditions. He cares for patients with epilepsy, including those with refractory (difficult-to-control) seizures, and offers video visits for added convenience.

Dr. Danoun earned his medical degree from Al-Quds University Faculty of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at the Detroit Medical Center. He pursued specialized fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Michigan and in epilepsy at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Minnesota, building deep expertise in the evaluation of seizures and the advanced imaging and monitoring techniques used to localize their source. His clinical and research interests include refractory epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, MEG and EEG source imaging, and cognitive neuroscience — areas focused on pinpointing the origin of seizures and identifying the most effective treatment options for each patient.

Dr. Danoun participates in epilepsy-related committees within the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology. He also serves as an advisor to the Michigan Epilepsy Foundation and contributes to the development of online educational content at the Epilepsy Foundation. In addition, he has participated in multiple clinical trials aimed at bringing new epilepsy treatments to patients and advancing the quality of epilepsy care. He also has an interest in sport neurology and serves as an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant with the National Football League, performing sideline evaluations on Detroit Lions home games to assess potential concussion.

Dr. Danoun is an approved licensed telemedicine provider in Michigan and Florida, allowing him to reach patients through virtual care. Fluent in English and Arabic, he is committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care to those living with epilepsy and related neurological conditions.
