Application Process
Vascular Surgery fellows are recruited from general surgical residencies with a historic foundation of five years of general surgical residency.
How to Apply
Candidates for the Vascular Surgery fellowship must complete a full residency in General Surgery and be eligible to take the American Board of Surgery certification. One fellow is chosen each year, with fellowship candidates typically applying 2 years before entering the training program.
One position is filled annually, with a second position filled every other year through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and are reviewed during December and January. Interview invitations are extended in January, and candidates are offered both in-person and virtual interview options during February and March in advance of the Match in early spring. Applicants must be in at least their fourth year of training in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program.
The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) office can be reached at: 2450 North Street, Northwest, Washington, DC 20037-1127, fax 202-828-4797, NRMP@aamc.org.
